Born and raised in Vakkom, Trivandrum, and my current role as Patron of the
Federation of Indigenous Apiculturist (FIA) is truly inspiring. My passion for farming and
kitchen gardening led to explore the world of apiculture, even while working as a Joint
Registrar at Kerala University.
Acquired training at the AICRP on Honeybees and Pollinators at the College of
Agriculture Vellayani, under the guidance of Dr. Stephen Devanesan, must have
provided valuable insights into scientific apiculture, igniting interest further. Starting
beekeeping while still working at the university showcasesed dedication and willingness
to embrace new ventures.
Collaborating with Dr. Stephen Devanesan, the present General Secretary, to conduct
Beekeepers Orientation Training (BOT) in various districts of Kerala sanctioned by SHM
Kerala, highlights my proactive involvement in training and empowering beekeepers
across the state. The continuous learning lead to meaningful contributions in promoting
sustainable agriculture practices benefiting farmers and communities.
